Yoga WORKSHOP: Stretch It, Twist It, Make It, Take It! a DIY Yoga Flow + Twists with Jenna Lambert

July 26 (Friday)
at 6:00 pm

Class length
120 minutes

Location
305 East Duval Street, Lake City, FL

Join the Fun! We'll be gathering at the studio for a lovely Friday evening, and would LOVE for you to join us for a creative, energizing & inspiring "make-n'-take" yoga session!

You'll get to design your very own No Sew, DIY tank:  Come learn how to turn a simple over-sized T-shirt into a gloriously fun tank top, perfect for yoga practice, a day at the beach or river, or just lounging around your garden.

Then, we'll get on our mats and STRETCH out our worries!

You'll enjoy a group asana ("yoga pose") flow, a sequence where we link one yoga posture into the next, moving with the breath.  This yoga sequence is lovingly curated to unleash your creative beauty and confidence, as well as let your tension lessen and your laughter pour.  You'll feel a little sassier and stronger as you embrace your inner Goddess.

You'll gain confidence in simple yet beneficial movements of a classic Moon Salutation, which combines many basic standing poses.  Moon Salutations are a wonderful way to open your hips and get you moving around the different directions of your mat with grace and maybe giggles, as no one is perfect!

You'll feel your body move through air with side lunges, easy squats, and more, as repetition gets your body and mind more open and soothed.  These hip-openers help let go of physical tightness as well as emotional gripping that might be lingering in the body unawares.  You'll leave feeling a little more spaciousness with an overall sense of serenity.

You'll get to practice asana (postures) such as Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) and Parsvottanasana (Pyramid Pose), Utkatakonasana (Victory Squat/Goddess Pose), Anjaneyasana (Forward Lunge), and the somewhat less familiar Skandasana (War Pose/Side Lunge), and more.

During cool-down, we'll also wring out our frustrations or fatigue with feel-good twist variations, including Matsyendrasana and Bharadvajasana, both poses named after sages (so you KNOW they are a smart thing to do!).

Solid colored tees will be supplied. If you'd like to bring your own, that is great too!  If you bring your own shirt, it is recommended the tee is at least 2X larger than what they normally wear.  If you typically wear small then large, large then XXL, etc.

All other DIY supplies, needed to make a unique top fashioned just for YOU, will be provided for you at the studio.

The luscious evening of stress relief and rejuvenation will conclude with a guided deep, systematic relaxation, with special attention paid to how bolsters, chairs, and other props can aid the body in deep release and move towards physical and mental calm and peace.

The use of chairs and yoga props is encouraged to enhance alignment as well as comfort. Systematic Relaxation combined with diaphragmatic breathing is one of the best possible solutions to physical discomfort, mental fatigue, or emotional overwhelm.  Yoga not only heals, but helps you thrive, and this evening workshop is a great way to feel this impact.

So, ayou ready for an evening with upbeat, uplifting people in a beautiful and relaxing environment where you can unwind AND take home a fun tee?!

Yes, please!

Then join Jenna at AHA Yoga for an imaginative time of empowering Yoga.  Invest in yourself now; you are worth it.

Please BRING A YOGA MAT.  If you use a shared studio mat, please note there is a $2 rental fee and  it is your responsibility to sanitize it after each use (cleaning supplies provided).  All other props (CHAIRS, bolsters, blankets, blocks, hand weights, eye pillows, straps, etc) are provided; if you have preferred personal props, feel free to bring those.

  • It’s best not to eat one hour prior to yoga; for some people, 2 hours are required.
  • If anything can be done to make your experience more comfortable, secure, and successful, please let your teacher know (temperature, bathroom needs attention, you need to leave early, special concern, etc.).  Suggestions to improve your yoga & meditation experience are always welcome.
  • A separate Waiver & Release for AHA Yoga must be completed and signed prior to practice on your first day (unless you are a returning student and have already signed this).
