Or maybe you just need a burst to fire you to enlighten your New Year of 2020 with grace and vitality!


Come practice simple yoga techniques–easy enough for a beginner but refined enough for longtime practitioners–to lift your energies and help you SHINE.  Get ready to learn foundational yoga techniques to strengthen your vitality and enhance your sense of presence and confidence with AGNI SARA, or “Fire Essence.” Have you experienced AGNI SARA yet? If you have practiced with me through AHA Yoga and completed the sequence focusing on the 4 layers of abdominal musculature, then perhaps you have; this means you know firsthand the immediate energizing effects.




AGNI SARA is a master practice in my tradition of yoga, and one of the most essential techniques for ongoing well-being as well as discernment and other aspects of personal growth.  And it is an important cornerstone of this afternoon of yoga for confidence!

According to yoga philosophy, your belly is home to the nourishing and manifesting energies of the will, longevity, and a can-do attitude. It is the spot upon which you meditate if illness threatens your life, but it is also the focal region if you’re well and simply ready to thrive. The name tells it all; the Sanskrit words mean “Fire Essence,” and you’ll leave this workshop a little more in touch with the life-giving fire in your belly. This afternoon workshop will help you tap into your natural resources of vitality and confidence that already reside within you.



Come join us to learn the yoga philosophy that explains why the solar plexus is crucial, how to access and direct its effects, and the different elements, variations, and overall practice of AGNI SARA.   Adding this simple exercise to your daily routine cultivates your vitality and confidence, as well as discernment, clarity, and capacity to act in a way that serves your highest self.




We will also review Diaphragmatic Breathing, a cornerstone for ALL yogic practices and how we reap the benefits of practice even off the mat.  Then we'll learn all about KAPALABHATI, a breathing technique used to enhance energy.  This techniqueis both a “pranayama,” a breathing technique to enhance “prana” or life force, as well as a “shat kriya,” one of “six actions” whose purpose is cleansing.  In the discipline of Kapalabhati, stagnation is cleared away, making room for qualities like clarity, calm repose, or sweet bursts of vitality.  




We will also learn specific MUDRAS, or yogic hand-gesture, that serves to focus the mind and build confidence while releasing self-doubt and anxiety.

Our distinctive sequence for YOGA for VITALITY & CONFIDENCE will also include many REVOLVED POSES--aka TWISTS, as these help stoke and harness that inner fire of Agni, making us all a little more pepped to face each day with hope and excitement.  


We'll even take progressive steps into the pose "Parivrtta Hasta Padangusthasana," Revolved Hand to Foot Pose, for a little more concentration and challenge.  Remember, it is all about PRACTICE.   :)

  







Please BRING A YOGA MAT.  If you use a shared studio mat, please note there is a $2 rental fee and  it you need to sanitize it after each use (cleaning supplies provided).

Purchase of the tuition pass below for "YOGA WORKSHOP for VITALITY & CONFIDENCE" confirms your agreement to the following Terms & Conditions of Registration & Attendance, as well as the Waiver and Release:  
  • If you have any medical concerns, injuries, allergies, are pregnant, or have any changes in such conditions, it is your duty & responsibility to inform your teacher prior to class.
  • Your place is held only upon receipt of tuition payment ($28 for EARLY BIRD with on-line registration; regular price of $33 at the door).
  • Payment for this Yoga class is non-refundable, unless your class is taken off the weekly schedule due to low enrollment, dire teacher emergency, or unavoidable natural disaster.  You can transfer your pass to a friend if you need to cancel.
  • There are no pro-rated tuition fees for absences  and no make-up classes for missed days.   
  • Payments for this course are not transferable to a future class, series, term, or event.  All passes expire the day of this workshop.
  • Advise your teacher with 24-hours advance notice if you are unable to attend (text message is preferred).
  • The teacher holds the right to cancel or reschedule any classes, sessions, or events due to extreme illness or emergencies.  Students will be notified of the rescheduled date and every attempt will be made to accommodate each student’s schedule. 
  • Credit-debit payments are completed online.  Cash or check (made out to “AHA Yoga”) is paid in person or mailed (305 E. Duval St, Ste 101, Lake City, FL 32055).
  • Bring your yoga mat; shared mats are available for an additional $2 rental fee and must be cleaned after use (supplies provided).
  • Turn off or put all cell phones on silent. 
  • Words and energy matter!  This is your time to turn inward, and much care has been given to cultivating a sacred space. You and your colleagues are doing deep work when you undertake yoga. Please be respectful of your peers and teacher and maintain the calm, peaceful space.  This means this is not the time for gossip, complaining, or leftover conversations from work.  Take this time and space to breathe and transition into your deeper practice and allow your best self to shine.
  • Please take your shoes off at the door of the studio to keep the floor clean and sanitary.
  • Be on your mat and ready to go at the starting time.
  • It’s best not to eat one hour prior to yoga; for some people, 2 hours are required.
  • If anything can be done to make your experience more comfortable, secure, and successful, please let your teacher know (temperature, bathroom needs attention, you need to leave early, special concern, etc.).  Suggestions to improve your yoga & meditation experience are always welcome.
  • A separate Waiver & Release for AHA Yoga, must be completed and signed prior to practice on your first day (unless you are a returning student and have already signed this).
