Anxiety and our Teens: Why the ‘anxious generation’ are struggling with anxiety and what can be done to help reduce its impact on our teens.
In this seminar, Amanda Burke will present some of her preliminary Masters of Counselling research about anxiety and its effects on the current generation of adolescents. Drawing from the most recent evidence, this seminar will look at why anxiety has skyrocketed amongst youth, how it is affecting teenagers’ lives, and some key steps that can be taken to reduce its impact. This seminar will be of interest to anyone who has teenagers in their lives.
Amanda Burke has a background in education and is currently completing a Masters of Counselling at Massey University. She has four children, two of whom are teenagers. She spent more than a decade working with teenagers in various secondary and tertiary-level teaching positions.
