This class, conducted over Zoom, is a safe space for parents of shy/nervous dogs to work on living with and supporting their pooch.
In this class you'll learn how to:
- Understand your dog's body language
- Identify triggers and thresholds
- Build trust and confidence
- Utilize desensitization techniques & counterconditioning
- Provide a safe space at home
- Plan a solution for events such as fireworks, visitors- familiar or unfamiliar people, etc.
- Management Skills
- Work on the following: crate, place, treat magnet, 123, treat and retreat, touch, name recognition, and going to safe spot/room on cue
- Enrichment
- Discuss herbal supplements and when to talk about medication with a vet or a Behaviorist
- Utilize equipment such as ThunderShirt, Calming Cap, Happy Hoodie, calming collars, calming sprays, plug-in scent, calming bed, muzzle etc.
