This sign up page is for students looking to purchase a working spot in the workshop. This allows your dog to participate in the workshop. 1 ticket permits up to 2 owners + 1 dog. If you'd like to bring multiple dogs, you'll need to purchase multiple tickets.
Handlers learn basics about the “rat hunting” sports, including competition venues and similarities/differences between the “urban ratting” and “barn ratting” versions. For dogs workshop includes:
Introduction (or re-introduction) to a rat, both in a quarry cage and in a tube
Building value for the scent of the live rat and drive to search for it
Practice “Burrow” and “Bridge” elements of a Happy Ratters run
Practice hunting in an urban trial ring setup
Try out an Urban Ratting game (appropriate to dog’s level)
***Please note that NO rats will be harmed during this workshop.***
Pre-Reqs: Dogs need to be at least 6 months old to participate. Please note that in order for your dog to participate in this workshop they will need to be crated in-between turns.
