The Sensitive Pooch Series: Supporting Your Shy Dog (4 Class Series)

Duration: 4 Weeks/45 minutes per class

Venue: Zoom (Online)

Class Size: Max 6 students

This class, conducted over Zoom, is a safe space for parents of shy/nervous dogs to work on living with and supporting their pooch.

In this class you'll learn how to: 

  • Understand your dog's body language
  • Identify triggers and thresholds
  • Build trust and confidence
  • Utilize desensitization techniques & counterconditioning 
  • Provide a safe space at home
  • Plan a solution for events such as fireworks, visitors- familiar or unfamiliar people, etc.
  • Management Skills
  • Work on the following: crate, place, treat magnet, 123, treat and retreat, touch, name recognition, and going to safe spot/room on cue
  • Enrichment
  • Discuss herbal supplements and when to talk about medication with a vet or a Behaviorist
  • Utilize equipment such as ThunderShirt, Calming Cap, Happy Hoodie, calming collars, calming sprays, plug-in scent, calming bed, muzzle etc.
