Winter Solstice Class
with Jill

December 21 (Saturday)
at 10:45 am

Class length
60 minutes

The Winter Solstice is the shortest day and longest night of the year, when there is the least amount of Light and the most Dark in our day.  In this way, Winter Solstice is a time to turn inwards into ourselves and embrace and welcome our intuition.

Simultaneously, we look forward to the return of the Light, knowing that after the Winter Solstice has passed, we'll slowly gain bit by bit of Sun and Light back with each new day.

In this Winter Solstice class, relax, renew, and restore your mind, body and spirit with a specially designed sequence of poses that focus on connecting movement to breath. This class offers an hour-long practice to cultivate mindfulness and non-judgmental awareness of body alignment, sensations, and energy flow. Movement (through asanas) and rest (through guided meditation in savasana) are both incorporated to encourage centering in the physical body through calm attentiveness to breath to quiet the mind. Some previous yoga experience is helpful, but not necessary; suitable for Every Body.

Class cards and drop-ins accepted.
