This class is a fusion of yoga and pilates. We begin on the floor introducing awareness of the breath, alignment of the pelvis, hips, and sacrum in preparation to pull strength from the deep abdominals. We integrate core strengthening and spine lengthening typical of pilates mat work, accompanied by yoga counter poses. The sequences of poses are prepared in such a way that you progress from one exercise to the next with the choice of building intensity, or not. We move from floor poses to standing poses to further integrate core stabilization, spinal lengthening and the biomechanic awareness. The class ends with restorative poses and rest.
