Deepen Your Practice: The Five Elements
Yoga is a mind-body practice, but our language and our ways of thinking tend to treat the mind and the body as separate. In this workshop we will use the ancient Indian conception of the five great elements – earth, water, fire, air, and space – to tune our awareness into our mind-body. Each of the five elements is associated with one of the five senses and with different mind-body functions and systems. Through meditation, visualization, and our sequence of postures and breathing exercises we will tune into each of the five elements in turn.
