Class length
90 minutes

This is a class of the Ashtanga Vinyasa foundational postures from the first to the second series with the specific goal of preparing the body for meditation. Fundamental standing postures will be untouched, then a playful journey through select asana that serve to stabilize the body and mind will be introduced.

Who should attend? Students who have some experience with the Ashtanga Vinyasa method.

Each class will be based on the students attending, but we will work toward the following schedule each month.
- Week 1: Primary technique, breath work, and add-ons;
- Week 2: Primary into second;
- Week 3: Primary into more second; and
- Week 4: Accessible second.

You may ask, why we called this class Vinyasa Krama? Basically, we wanted to highlight the synergistic energy created in the class:
  • Vinyasa – which is the principle of synchronizing movement with the breath.
  • Krama – which literally means steps or stages.
This synergistic effect builds a strong energy flow to prepare us for meditation.
