This class is an introduction to Aerial Yoga. Aerial Yoga is a type of Yoga which uses a hammock to allow students to perform postures that they may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the mat. Begin with a warm up on the mat with the hammock, then basic yoga poses. The soft fabric of the hammock allows for deeper stretching, strengthening and a freeing, flowing, release of tensions in the mind body and spirit. This method targets specific parts of the body for maximum results. Always a focus on the breath and a good final relaxation. Prerequisite: it is recommended that you have a regular yoga practice and or a daily stretching/flexibility routine before doing Aerial Yoga.
