The Peterborough Academy of Circus Arts is proud to present a new collaboration with locally reknowned Makeup Artists of Faces by 2. Since our inception 5 years ago, PACA has partnered with Faces by 2 in bringing an exemplary image before an audience. Now we are thrilled to share with you a four week course in the art of working with Performance Makeup.
Character creation in the art of storytelling is as old as theatre itself, and this course is designed to teach the techniques of applying makeup for a variety of scenarios and then utilizing them in fun and creative ways, all from your own home with a makeup kit mailed/provided.
The course will give you the opportunity to learn a range of skills, from the basics principles to the completion of a character's makeup. Creative assignments will be given based on the techniques that are taught, which will allow for diverse range of expression. The final class will culminate in a showcase, where your skills using a model from your own home will be shared before the group.
What you can expect to learn from this course:
. Basics of makeup application and removal, hygiene and tools.
. Makeup for the stage, contouring and highlights.
. Introduction of characters and developing ideas
