Here at Blue Moon Yoga & Wellness studio we are so excited to be offering a unique Aerial Yoga series. This is a  6 week series. Aerial yoga Beginner series is practiced in the hammock, at hip height. This series is great for those who have attended Brandy’s Beginner Aerial drop in classes in the past here at the studio.  This anti-gravity style yoga helps decompress the spine, stretch the muscles, and build strength in the body and mind. . This series will give participants the opportunity to explore several inversions aka hanging upside down!  Brandy will guide you through fun and challenging aerial yoga poses /sequences with each class allowing you to honour your body and your comfort level.

Coming to Aerial Yoga ?
Congratulations on choosing to explore this Fun form of Yoga. Let your inner child come out to play. Aerial Yoga is practiced in a hammock so you are able to experience the poses in a whole new playful way. This anti-gravity style yoga helps decompress the spine, stretch the muscles, and build strength in the body and mind. This 60 min class is for beginners and ends with a blissful cocoon Savasana. Please wear clothing that covers your armpits and knees. It is important to wear form fitting clothes, no hoods or collars, drawstrings. Loose clothing can get caught and hinder your movement when getting in/out and moving around in your hammock. Form fitting leggings, a tank top with a thin t-shirt (short sleeved) overtop to cover the arm pit area is perfect! Aerial yoga is practiced barefoot. Absolutely NO Jewelry, Zippers, Buttons, Hair clips, etc. as these may snag the fabric. If you have jewlery that is difficult to remove please take time to remove before class. Please wash hands before class & NO lotion before you come to class, you need your hands to be able to grip the silky fabric. Be sure to hydrate before you come to class. Hydration is very important for all types of physical activity. If you are going to eat before class make sure it is at least 1 hour before and that it is very light. Prepare to smile, stretch, strengthen your mind & body while having a whole lot of Fun! If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
