"Lungta" (Tibetan word for Prayer Flags: Lung=Wind & Ta=Horse) Windhorse
Prayer flags are covered in mantras and symbolic images and typically include five colors, each of which represents an element. They have traditionally been used in Tibet to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. Most often they are set in the wind where the breeze carries the blessings of good fortune and compassion from the mantras to beings throughout the world. Over time, exposure to the elements fades the mantras and images. When that happens it is believed that the blessings have gone on to become permanent parts of the universe.
Start with a flag and uncover your creative spirit.
Create your personal Painted Prayer flags just like the Buddhist monks create, by using pre-made screens and stencils, permanent markers and textile paints. This creative process allows us to make new discoveries about ourselves and our world. These flags are personal, cross-cultural and cross spiritual boundaries and share positive, creative energy with others and your environment. Place an intention and let the spirit flow. No experience required. Blank flags and materials provided.

We will introduce various states of consciousness and intentions, with emphasis on the intersection between mindful creative art (Painted Prayer Flags) setting intentions and Yoga (a system of poses and breathing) as it applies to the healing process. Using the tools of yoga, meditation and the therapeutic qualities of a painted prayer flags, we will explore the opportunity for transformation through body-mind unity and expressive and therapeutic art.
