Scott Whitmore is an experienced kirtan leader, opening people’s hearts and minds to new forms of self-exploration and inner peace. Scott began exploring kirtan from a young age and began furthering his spiritual practices his junior year of college while studying Psychology. Intrigued with the interconnectedness of the mind and spirit, he began reading and listening to Ram Dass, a world famous spiritual lecturer and teacher. The writings and teachings of Ram Dass connected with him deeply and he dreamt of being able to study under this great teacher in person. Six months after graduation, Scott was able to live this dream as he was invited to move to Maui to serve as a personal assistant and aid to Ram Dass. During this time, Scott’s spiritual life grew, as did his knowledge of Eastern Religions and practices. Over the course of his service, Scott was able to spend personal time with and learn from such teachers as: Jack Kornfield , Roshi Joan Halifax, Roshi Bernie Glassman , Lama Surya Das, Krishna Das and others. A few years later, he took a spiritual pilgrimage to India where he further developed his personal practice. During this time, he lived in and traveled to temples and ashrams in Northern India spending his time in study and prayer.
