Introduction to Woodworking - Jan 2020 Series SERIES OF CLASSES

Introduction to Woodworking is a 4 week series of classes, each 4 hours in length...a total of 16 hours of instruction.  The curriculum is approximately half lecture and half lab (workshop).

The student will learn the basics of woodworking beginning with what wood is, how it's structure dictates the process of woodworking, how wood movement affects design and construction and how to process, join, assemble and finish components of a woodworking project. 

Students will use a wide variety of both hand and power tools to complete at least two separate projects designed to give them the widest possible exposure to all facets of woodworking. 

Membership in the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association is required to attend the Class.  Shop Membership is not required but encouraged.  No previous woodworking experience is necessary.
