What is this class “barre” class everyone talks about??

Our barre classes use a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like yoga and Pilates. We use the barre as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements." The class also incorporates light handheld weights to bring the burn during all those reps, as well as mats, fitness balls, and bands for more targeted work. There is a large focus on learning how to find and engage the core muscles, which are working through the entire class.

Major benefits of barre include but are not limited to:  improved posture, muscle definition, weight loss, increased flexibility and reduced stress. Plus, women at just about any fitness level can benefit from a barre class.
One of the best parts of barre is that it combines strength training and cardio, so you're burning fat and building muscle at the same time.

Looking to test this trend out, but don't really know what to expect? Come to this “Intro to barre” workshop to put your fears to rest!

We will break down the three main sections of class, go deeper into each major exercise, and discuss the benefits of properly executing them, so that students can get more out of their workouts in class.  The second part of the workshop will include a “mini-class” to give the students a preview of what to expect.  There will be handouts to take home, drinks and light refreshments.

Time to pump up those plies!  See you at the Barre!!!

Sorry - that class has already taken place!
