Our ʻŌpio Hula Class gives young dancers an opportunity to strengthen their hula while deepening their connection to the ʻike (knowledge), moʻomeheu (culture), and traditions of Hawaiʻi. Students develop foundational and intermediate hula techniques, learn choreography, and strengthen their rhythm, coordination, and performance skills.

Through mele (song), hula, and moʻolelo (stories), our ʻŌpio are encouraged to understand the meaning and intention behind what they learn. The class emphasizes values such as kuleana (responsibility), laulima (working together), mālama (to care for), and aloha, while building confidence, discipline, and connection to their hula ʻohana.
