Mākua & Kūpuna Hula (Gracious Ladies)

Mākua & Kūpuna Hula, affectionately known as our Gracious Ladies, is a welcoming class for adult and kūpuna haumāna (students) to learn, grow, and enjoy hula together. Classes focus on foundational steps, technique, choreography, musicality, ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language), and moʻolelo (stories and history), while sharing the cultural values and traditions that give meaning to hula.

We learn at the pace of watering a garden, with patience, consistency, and care. Each class creates space to build confidence, strengthen the mind and body, and grow together through aloha, laulima (working together), and mālama (care), honoring each dancer wherever they are on their hula journey.
