Yin yoga is a wonderful complement to Hatha Yoga, any exercise routine, or it can also be an independent practice. Yin Yoga focuses on the less elastic connective tissues of the body including ligaments, tendons, and joint capsules. This is done by holding asanas (postures) for longer periods of time. By applying tension or compression, for a period of time, we can affect the mobility and health of the targeted areas In a Yin practice, you will move to the edge of sensation in an asana, find stillness, and hold for a period of time (3 to 5 minutes).
