Pairing slow & gentle movement with creative writing orients our bodies so we can notice what happens when we move. Although it may not feel like it, writing is not a purely cognitive act; the state of our blood, muscles, fascia, bones and brain informs what gets revealed (or not) when we write.

This 3-hour workshop gives participants an opportunity to witness pain, tension and patterns of interrupted movement in our bodies, allowing the stories created within our somas (body/mind) to have voice, and be released onto the page. Writing prompts throughout the class will help to guide the process of unraveling the story of our somatic self in kind and meaningful ways. They are designed to help dissolve the foreign body of pain a little at a time through integrating the lessons life presents us.

Wear cozy clothes you feel comfortable moving in. You are welcome to bring your yoga mat and favorite journal, but it is not necessary. Journals will be provided, and yoga mats & props are available for use at the studio. Tables & chairs will also be available as a writing surface. No writing or yoga experience required. Non-refundable.
