Join Jenna and Katie for jalaBlu's annual Thanksgiving + Gratitude Yoga & Sound event. This year we will be collecting donations for a beautiful and courageous Goddess named Emily, see below!
Born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, Emily Katsimpalis has dedicated her life to improving her community. After earning her Master of Public Administration in 2012, she worked for the City of Salida and later the Town of Buena Vista, where she helped establish the town’s first Historic Preservation Committee. Alongside her husband Kory, she welcomed their son Leon during this time. After four years, they moved back to Fort Collins as Emily was expecting their daughter Gia. Tragically, while pregnant, Emily was diagnosed with triple positive Stage 3 breast cancer just days after giving birth. Her treatment has included over 40 rounds of chemotherapy, more than 30 weeks of radiation, and five surgeries, but her cancer has now progressed to stage IV. Despite these challenges, Emily continues to work, care for her family, and seek life-saving treatments, including alternative options not covered by insurance. In the spirit of giving, we invite you to a Thanksgiving Yoga & Sound journey at the Ivy Ball Room, with all donations going directly to Emily and her family. Grateful for the support of their Buena Vista community, they appreciate any contributions to help with Emily's ongoing treatment and inspire hope for a cure.
