Myofascial Release for Every Body :

There’s a natural intelligence to our body. Attuning ourself to the innate wisdom to heal and unravel tension is the focus in Myofascial work.

Fascia is a specialized system of the body that has an appearance similar to a spider's web or a sweater. Fascia is very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein, as well as, all of our internal organs including the heart, lungs, brain and spinal cord. The most interesting aspect of the fascial system is that it is not just a system of separate coverings. It is actually one continuous structure that exists from head to toe without interruption. In this way you can begin to see that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part by the fascia, like the yarn in a sweater.

When fascia looses its pliability, through poor posture habits, physical trauma (car accidents, whiplash, a fall, surgeries), emotional trauma, inflammation, repetitive stress injuries, and scarring it becomes tight, restricted and a source of tension in the body.  The changes trauma causes in the fascial system influences comfort and function of our body. Fascial restrictions can exert excessive pressure causing all kinds of symptoms producing pain, headache, digestive issues or restriction of motion. Fascial restrictions affect our flexibility and stability, and are a determining factor in our ability to withstand stress and perform daily activities.

Myofascial Release lubricates the fascial network and alleviates tension, pain and range of motion restrictions. The body can move through life with more ease, grace and flexibility. We also benefit emotionally by Myofascial Release, as we release stuck emotions in the restricted areas. Utilizing props, sounds, breathing techniques, attention & intention we explore and encourage the body’s wisdom  to heal itself.
